Sports Massage

What is It? A sports massage is not your typical relaxation massage, though it will enventually have this affect. The technique stretches tight muscles, stimulates inactive muscles and improves the condition of your soft tissue. It is a form of deep tissue mobilisation.

Benefits: There are many benefits to having consistent sports massage therapy, the main ones I like to focus are the relief of muscular tension and pain, breakdown of scar tissue, increased range of motion, decreased healing time, improved sleep and reduction of stress.

When to use: It is recomended to have sports massage every 2-4 weeks to feel the full benefit. It is also recomended to recieve this therapy before a physically stressing event/activity to help to prepare the body physiologically and psychologically, as well as after, to aid in recovery.
